ramazan valiev
director and first assistant director
hello! I’m Ramazan Valiev, a director and first assistant director based in Bishkek.
I studied directing at the Saint Petersburg State Institute of Culture and work both creatively and organizationally – developing stories as a filmmaker and managing production as a 1st AD
my short films have been screened at local and international festivals, and I value precision, attention to detail, and emotional depth in storytelling
since 2019, I have worked on a wide range of projects as a 1st AD, helping teams bring ideas to life through structure, clarity, and calm coordination
in addition to my work in film, I currently serve as co-head of the Visual Media Department at Compass College, where I help shape an interdisciplinary approach to media education
I am also the co-founder of Antipokaz, a festival that celebrates “bad” student films with honesty and humor
